Colour
In this section you can select your preference for metal colour and karat.
A few things to note:
14K white gold and 18K white gold look pretty much identical. 18K is softer due to higher gold content and is also more expensive as a result. All white gold is plated and depending on how well you care for the ring, will have to be re-plated every few years. This is included in the price of the ring under your warranty.
14K yellow gold and 18K yellow gold have a slightly different appearance. 14K yellow is more of a subtle muted yellow and 18K is a more saturated intense yellow colour. 14K is stronger than 18K which has more gold content and so for thin bands I do recommend 14K yellow gold.
14K rose gold and 18K rose gold have a slightly different appearance as well. 14K rose is more of a soft pinky tone and 18K rose is more of a peachy saturated colour. 14K is also stronger than 18K which has more gold content and so for thin bands I also recommend 14K rose gold.
Platinum is a naturally 'white' metal and so it is not plated. Jewellers tend to have a bias towards this metal option however there a few things to note. While it is harder to bend platinum than it is 14K or 18K gold, it is easier to scratch. Over time Platinum will turn a bit of a darker 'greyish' colour/more of a vintage look, however a good polish will bring the brightness back to life.
Do some research on the difference between white gold and platinum to determine the best option for your lifestyle. There is no wrong answer!
